"Software Development Life Cycle in IT Industry”

 

The Department of Computer Engineering, in association with COMPESA, organized an expert lecture on 19th January 2026 from 9:15 AM to 2:00 PM. The topic of the lecture was “Software Development Life Cycle in IT Industry”, delivered by the expert Mr. Jabbar Shaikh.

The program began with the felicitation of the expert by the Head of the Department, Dr. S. A. Lakade. This was followed by a welcome speech and introduction of the guest by Mr. A. U. Chavan.

The session was then handed over to Mr. Shaikh, who began with an interactive discussion with the students. He engaged with the third-year students and explained the importance of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in the IT industry. He discussed various phases of SDLC such as requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

He also highlighted how SDLC helps in managing software projects efficiently, improving software quality, and minimizing development risks in real-world IT projects.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. A. D. Ganbawale. All teaching and non-teaching staff of the Computer Engineering Department were present and actively supported the successful conduct of the session.
